“I tend to see the world in terms of its visual aesthetics. Influenced by the great paintings, sculptures, and other art that I have seen and studied, I use the camera to paint what I experience. My aim is not to capture a scene as reality but rather to convey my reaction to that scene and stimulate in the viewer an appreciation of the patterns, shapes, and colors that originally moved me to take the photograph. My recent collection of reflections was inspired by walking the streets of New York and being fascinated by the amazing reflections in the windows, parked vehicles, metal columns, and polished stone I passed: distorted city panoramas, geometric patterns, splashes of vibrant color, a wonderful world of fantasy that reveals and reflects the eclectic matrix of the metropolis...” December 2009
